SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:
Since 2003, Founder and Principal of GJ Pendergast Architect, PLC; A full service Architectural Design and Construction Management Firm based in New Smyrna Beach Florida. The firm became an important asset to the Central Florida Coastal Community after the three massive hurricane strikes of 2004 which impacted hundreds of beachside luxury residences and businesses. The Pendergast technique emphasizes optimum use of land and location. He also designs creative client retreats into relatively modest square footage. With Towers, cantilevers, decks and port holes, he maximizes waterfront views, marsh vistas and beach/riverfront terrain in each building he designs. A Pendergastproject has become recognizable for its unique style and positive impact.
7 years as General Manager of Food Services for Jerry's of Central Florida. Developed the Architectural plans and the business systems for all aspects of Food & Beverage services in the International and Domestic Airport Terminals. Responsible for Annual Revenue of Two and a Half Million Dollars, with a net profit for each year of operation.
Architectural Projects have included historic restorations, elementary schools, remodeling and new construction of: in-flight catering kitchens, restaurant kitchens, dining rooms, cafeterias, cocktail lounges, gift shops and custom high-end residential. Many of these projects have been located in airports across the Southeast and have
required extensive travel.
Prior Hospitality experience with Hyatt Hotels. Completed management training program in 1978. Beverage Manager in Los Angeles for 2 years. Relocated to Miami Florida to open (2) Cocktail Lounges in the International Departure Lounge at Miami International Airport. Returned to University in 1982 and completed Architectural Degree.
