For more than 20 years, Gerard J. Pendergast Architect, PLC has been creating thoughtful, distinctive architecture throughout New Smyrna Beach and Central Florida. Led by Principal Architect Gerard J. “J” Pendergast, the firm combines decades of architectural experience with a background in business management, balancing creative design with the realities of construction, function, and investment.

J’s diverse portfolio includes custom residences, commercial and mixed-use spaces, historic restorations, municipal projects, hospitality environments, and adaptive reuse. Deeply rooted in New Smyrna Beach, the firm has contributed to many recognizable local properties and community spaces, including projects along Canal Street and Flagler Avenue.
With an architectural career spanning nearly four decades, J continues to bring a personal, hands-on approach to every project, creating spaces that are functional, enduring, and uniquely connected to their place.
J holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida State University. He is a registered architect in the State of Florida and has longstanding involvement in New Smyrna Beach’s civic, business, preservation, and arts communities.
